• Them: So what's Spring Awakening about?
• Me: It's a coming of age story!
• Them: What exactly does that mean?
• Me: Well. . . there are these teenagers in a small German town and they're learning about sex, cause you know they don't get taught about those things in the early 1900s and these two kids have sex and the girl gets pregnant and she dies during a botched abortion. And their friend fails school so he kills himself and the girl he likes got kicked out of her house and lives on the streets. Oh and this other girl gets abused by her father.
